With The Window Centre Conservatories you enjoy an impressive degree of design freedom. From the ornate to the minimalist, the classical to the contemporary, we can help you create a conservatory that perfectly suits both your home and your individual tastes. Many  conservatory designs reflect those of the late 19th and 20th century allowing you not only to match the style of many older buildings but also to add character to newer developments. Below are a few of the most popular styles but with our bespoke service if you design it we can normally build it.

A Victorian conservatory is one of the most popular conservatory styles and it's not hard to see why. Inspired by an era when Gothic style architecture, complete with ornate crestings and finials, saw a romantic renaissance. These conservatories are as versatile as they are engaging. Not only do they have the ability to complement almost any type of property, they can also be readily adapted to suit whatever space is available - whether that's a large garden or a small patio area. It can be distinguished by its steeply pitched roof and its use of ornate detailing along the roof's centre apex (called the ridge). Typically, Victorian conservatories have 3 or 5 panel facets.

edwardian conservatory

A modern interpretation of a regal age in British architectural history, Edwardian conservatories (sometimes called Georgian) are typically characterised by their square or rectangular footprint, This in turn means they are incredibly space efficient - allowing you to enjoy the maximum possible floor area. However don't think for a second that it's all about function. With Edwardian conservatories, you'll find form in abundance too, thanks to their imposing nature and widespread use of design flourishes such as elaborate crestings and detailed moulding.

This style of conservatory is similar to the Victorian, the main difference is that they are flat fronted where as the Victorian has an angular front. Representing a perfect marriage of form and function, they also tend to be more understated - making them the ideal choice if you do not wish to detract from the visual impact of the main property.

Few conservatories are more imposing or enjoy a great sense of presence than the Gable conservatory. A style that works especially well with older properties, these conservatories have a square floor plan. In addition, and unlike the Georgian/Edwardian or the Victorian, they also have a vertical rather than sloping front roof section, this maximises the feeling of light and space inside.

Reminiscent of the grand orangeries and classical conservatories of yesteryear, this type of conservatory enjoys an imposing front elevation with the windows extending to the apex of the roof. If you're looking for a conservatory that takes your breath away every time you look at it, then this is definitely the style for you!

Sun Room

Sunrooms or 'Lean-to' conservatories are usually rectangular with a roof that leans on to the main property. They have clean, simple lines giving them a modern, uncomplicated look and making them suitable for a wide range of house styles. In particular, they are the ideal choice for bungalows or other homes where the roof has low eaves.

Sometimes referred to as a Mediterranean, or Studio room, this style enjoys crisp, clean lines and has a truly modern feel. Minimalism has never been more exciting.

Lantern roof conservatories are a majestic and memorable choice for larger conservatories. Not only do they add a feeling of height to the overall structure, but the use of glass rather than polycarbonate increases light levels and gives you an unhindered view of the sky above.

Lantern roofs are the perfect finishing touch to any large conservatory. Formed by a second tier of windows to the main roof, Lanterns add height and presence to the overall construction. More than that, they also help to increase the feeling of interior space. The second tier of windows can also incorporate openers to increase ventilation as well as decorative glazing panels for the ultimate in aesthetic appeal.

Bespoke conservatory

Bespoke and Combination conservatories are everything their titles suggest. They offer you more space and greater levels of flexibility by combining two styles - such as the Georgian and the Sunroom - or by adapting an existing style so that it can be used in the shape of a 'P'. This gives you two distinctive areas which can be used however your heart desires - maybe using one for dining and the other for relaxing. Other widely used combination styles include T-Shaped and B-Shaped. The choice - and the flexibility - is yours.

There's no denying that our range of conservatories can be used in the most popular shapes and styles, but what if you want a conservatory design that's unique to you? A style that's outside of those mentioned so far? No problem, we has the ability to produce totally bespoke conservatories based on your own particular needs and designs - whether that's a particular large span construction or a conservatory that's based on unusual dimensions due to the nature of the site. Simply ask your sales advisor and if we can realise your dream... we will.
